When Michelle first contacted me to photograph their wedding, I couldn’t be more excited. The idea of a backyard wedding on a gorgeous private residence is just so intimate. The beauty of a backyard wedding is that couples can really make the wedding their own. Plus, they get to have easy access to their wedding venue for the rest of their lives. Overall, Michelle and Michael killed it with their details and their day was the intimate fairytale wedding of their dreams.
Heading into wedding week, Michelle and Michael were afraid that it would rain. However, the rain held off and the day was great. The ladies started the day preparing in the home in their gorgeous robes! While getting ready in matching robes is not a must, it just makes the getting ready look so cohesive.
Michelle decided to go with a dusty blue as one of the main colors, which paid the perfect homage to Cinderella. In correspondence with this theme, the bridesmaids wore dusty blue dresses from David’s Bridal. The sparkle made them look like they stepped right out of the Cinderella movie.
The guys matched the ladies perfectly with their dusty blue vests. Michael gave off “glass slipper” vibes with his silver vest. Talk about prince charming! The little boys in this party were adorable as well. I always love seeing how each couple incorporates their loved ones, especially the littles of the family.
As I always say, details are so much fun! And Michelle and Michael nailed it with theirs. The simple yet elegant invitations from Zazzle really speak to the whole vibe of the wedding. Alongside the invitations, her jewelry and shoes brought the whole look together. There is always something about neutral details with small pops of color that will win a photographer’s heart over.
Who knew a backyard wedding could be so elegant?! Clearly, Michelle and Michael did! The way they decorated was out of this world. The yard was decked out in gorgeous florals done by MaryAnn Blooms. The touches of blush complimented the dusty blue perfectly and was the icing on the cake for the enchanted theme. Michelle stated that one of the more little stressful things was having all of the ceremony stuff set up before all of the guests got there. However, this did not stop them from having a perfect ceremony spot.
Furthermore, their ceremony was phenomenal. When Michelle walked down the aisle, you could just feel the love between them. They also included a unique unity ceremony with sand.
Following the ceremony, we went straight into portraits. It was the perfect time to see the bridesmaids and groomsmen come together! Each outfit complimented one another perfectly and complimented the bride and groom even more so!
Of course, what would a wedding be without the bride and groom portraits! Michelle was an absolutely gorgeous bride and it is safe to say that I am in love with these bridal shots of her.
Moving on to Michelle and Michael together, you can just feel the love!
Heading into reception, the details continued to amaze me. The dusty blue continued into the table décor and looked phenomenal. They had adorable “let love grow” koozies as a favor which I would have loved to be a guest and take one home. Their wedding cake by Incredible Edibles was so simple but fit the theme perfectly. One of my favorite details was the little bird on the table that was just the most subtle Cinderella touch.
The newly married couple shared their first dance to From This Moment and it was so precious. The rest of the evening was so much fun! Everyone seemed to have a ball.
Congratulations to Michelle and Michael. I loved celebrating this beautiful and magical day with you.
